Prompted to do this by a desire to minimized bot scraping and email spam. @adamancer I would appreciate you looking at this before it gets pushed to main. No rush on timeline.
My edits could be squashed on merge for tidiness; I was fiddling to get to a place where things seem to work well. I think I did things nicely but not 100% certain on that.
