Organization-wide defaults and shared documentation for OEI repositories.
- CODE_OF_CONDUCT.md — community standards and enforcement contact, used across all OEI repositories.
- CONTRIBUTING.md — the contribution process shared by every OEI repository: branching strategy, semantic versioning, changesets, and code style.
- SECURITY.md — vulnerability reporting process and supported-versions policy.
- .github/ISSUE_TEMPLATE/ — default Bug Report and Feature Request forms, used by any repository that doesn't define its own.
- .github/PULL_REQUEST_TEMPLATE.md — default pull request template, used by any repository that doesn't define its own.
- profile/README.md — the organization profile page shown at github.com/openendurance. This is a separate thing from the file you're reading now; it's the public-facing card, not internal documentation.
GitHub automatically serves the files above to any public repository in the
organization that doesn't define its own copy — so a repository with no
CONTRIBUTING.md of its own will show this one, with no extra setup
required. A repository-specific file always takes precedence over the
default here.
In practice: most OEI repositories should not have their own copies of
these files. If you find yourself adding a repository-specific
CONTRIBUTING.md or SECURITY.md, that's a sign the content in it is
genuinely repository-specific — if it isn't, the right fix is usually to
update the shared version here instead.
Changes to these shared defaults follow the same process described in CONTRIBUTING.md.
