Design files for the 1Meter PCB
The DDS8888's CF (pulse output) pin flashes at 1200 imp/kWh (0.83 Wh per pulse). Currently only RS485 Modbus is wired, which limits energy resolution to the register's 0.01 kWh (10 Wh) steps.
The current schematic draft adds a dedicated pulse-input circuit for the next PCB revision:
J4: 1x2 connector for CF and GNDR28: 10k pull-up to+3.3VR29: 0 ohm jumper in series with the CF signalDDS8888_CF: net routed to ESP32-C3GPIO4for PCNT pulse counting
This is now being treated as a PCB revision, not just a field modification. The schematic has been updated, but the PCB layout and manufacturing outputs still need to be updated in KiCad before fabrication.
-
In a terminal, go to the folder you want to put the repo
-
Enter the following to clone the PCB project to your computer:
git clone https://github.com/onepowerLS/1Meter_PCB.git -
Navigate into the project folder:
cd 1Meter_PCB/ -
Enter the following to pull in the kicad_libraries submodule:
git submodule update --init --recursive --remote -
You should now see the following files in the project directory:
- kicad_libraries folder
- .gitignore
- .gitmodules
- 1Meter_PCB.kicad_dru
- 1Meter_PCB.kicad_pcb
- 1Meter_PCB.kicad_pro
- 1Meter_PCB.kicad_sch
- README.md
-
If you go into the kicad_libraries directory, you should see a README and the library files
-
All work on 1Meter_PCB should occur in the “main” branch
-
Before making changes, make sure to pull the latest version from github
- In a terminal navigate to the project folder
- Enter the command:
git pull
-
Generally work must be coordinated with collaborators such that only one person is working on the project at a time. This is different from software projects.
-
All work should be committed and pushed to github when finished working or at the end of the day.
- In a terminal navigate to the project folder
- Commit any changes with the command:
git commit -m”<Enter your commit message here>” - Push the project to github:
git push - Send email or message to the team that it’s free to work on
All 1PWR custom libraries should be stored in the github repo kicad_libraries.
Since kicad_libraries is a repository, you need to make sure you update it from its latest branch and not the 1Meter_PCB project.
-
In a terminal navigate to a folder where you want to work on the kicad_libraries repo
-
Clone the kicad_libraries repo:
git clone https://github.com/onepowerLS/kicad_libraries.git -
If the library is already on your machine, use git pull to get the latest on “main”
-
Edit the library files (symbols and footprints) in Kicad. Make sure you close any Kicad projects before creating new libraries.
-
Commit your changes adding any new library files
-
Push changes to the github repo
-
Go to the 1Meter_PCB project and update the submodules to use the new library edits in the PCB project
- In a terminal navigate to the 1Meter_PCB project
- Run the following command to pull in the latest submodule changes:
git submodule update --recursive --remote - Run the following to commit the new submodule update:
git add kicad_libraries/ - git commit -m”Updated to latest kicad_libraries”
- git push
