ODE4HERA: Open Digital Environment for Hybrid-Electric Regional Architectures
Speeding up the Development of Future Aircraft Together - Powered by Digital Engineering
The objective of the Open Digital Environment for Hybrid-Electric Regional Architectures (ODE4HERA) project is to enable and accelerate the development of Hybrid-Electric Regional (HER) aircraft thanks to improved tools and techniques implemented in a transferable and Open Digital Platform (ODP).
HER configurations imply far higher complexity than conventional configurations while involving new aircraft technologies and broader collaboration across the value/supply chain. State-of-the-art digitalization technique limitations put at risk the achievement of the 2035 HER Entry-Into-Service (EIS) target.
To address these challenges, the ODP developed in ODE4HERA will combine Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE), Multidisciplinary Design Optimization (MDO), Simulation Data Management (SDM) and Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) technologies.
Systems engineering data is exchanged through SysML v2, and the libraries we have developed to do so are available open-source:
In this GitHub organization, we have published four SysML v2 libraries (each in its own repository) addressing the different domains on the ODP:
- Requirements Management (on Sysand): adds a database of INCOSE-recommended attributes to requirements and needs.
- Architecture Design (on Sysand): for modeling architectural design spaces (including design parameters and performance metrics) and derived architecture instances.
- Simulation and Analysis (on Sysand): for modeling multidisciplinary simulation workflows, including support for uncertainty quantification.
- SPDM (on Sysand): to support Simulation Process & Data Management concepts.
You are very welcome to check them out and use them, and of course also to contribute to them! Refer to the library repositories for more info about how to contribute.
The easiest way to get started is by installing the packages from the Sysand package index: https://sysand.com/orgs/ode4hera/
For example:
sysand add ode4hera/requirements-managementYou can of course also download the packages or even contribute to the packages throught their respective GitHub repositories.
The work presented in this GitHub organization has been developed in the ODE4HERA (Open Digital Environment for Hybrid-Electric Regional Architectures) project and has received funding from the European Union Clean Aviation Joint Undertaking under grant agreement nr 101140510.
