Play Console asks for desktop screenshots as well as phone and tablet ones. Its help still calls them Chromebook screenshots, with a tablet's rules: at least 4, 16:9, 1080 to 7680 pixels.

Screenshots, in android/play/screenshots/desktop/

Four at 1920 × 1080, drawn at density 200 (1536 × 864 dp), the screen of a 14-inch laptop at 125%:

  1. a place, St. Lawrence Market's north door
  2. search by name beside the map
  3. the menu a right-click on the map opens: choose, save, or copy that point's code or coordinates
  4. the dark theme over its night basemap

The third shows the mouse support a desktop gets and a tablet does not. It was opened with a long press, which opens the same menu; adb has no right button to send. All four are 24-bit PNG with no alpha.

Android XR

PLAY.md now says why the XR section stays empty:

  • The app reaches headsets from the phone release, as a window, with nothing to set in the console.
  • Real headset screenshots (4 to 8 at 8:5) would need Google's XR emulator, whose licence is the developer's to accept.
  • If the console won't save the listing without them, the choice is between that emulator and excluding headsets in the device catalog for now.

Verified

  • The four images read back at 1920 × 1080, RGB.
  • audit/markdown.py passes.

Play Console asks for desktop screenshots, which its help still calls
Chromebook screenshots, to the same rules as a tablet's. The four in
play/screenshots/desktop are 1920 by 1080 drawn at 1536 by 864 dp, a
14-inch laptop's screen at 125%: a place, search by name, the menu a
right-click on the map opens, and the dark theme.

PLAY.md lists them, and says why the Android XR section is left empty:
the app reaches headsets from the phone release with nothing to set, and
real headset screenshots would need Google's XR emulator, whose licence
is the developer's to accept.
