Sango is an MIT-licensed macOS 26 menu-bar utility for monitoring and switching between ChatGPT accounts used by the installed Codex CLI. It does not bundle Codex and it never calls the OpenAI API directly.
The project is an MVP and depends on Codex's experimental app-server JSONL
protocol. Version 0.144.3 is the tested baseline, but Sango uses capability
probes instead of version gating.
crates/shared: a pure Rust Crux 0.19 core with feature-first state machines.crates/desktop-runtime: macOS-side Rust effects, SQLite, Keychain, polling, and transactional account switching.crates/apple: the Rust BoltFFI bridge exported to macOS.apps/macos: the visual-only SwiftUI menu-bar application and Apple tests.
Generated Swift contracts, the XCFramework, Swift package, and Xcode project are deliberately not committed.
Requirements: Rust 1.90 (via rust-toolchain.toml), Xcode 26.6 / Swift 6.3,
XcodeGen, SwiftLint, and an installed Codex CLI. The BoltFFI CLI is installed
automatically by just doctor / just generate to match the boltffi
workspace pin (not a rustup component).

Sango is pre-release software. Keep backups of ~/.codex/auth.json while
testing account switching and do not use it with irreplaceable credentials.
