The National Centre for Atmospheric Science is a global leader in atmospheric research and innovation. We work to understand our atmosphere, how it is changing, and how it affects the environment, health, and prosperity. Our research, skills, and infrastructure underpin climate change resilience, clean air solutions, early-warning systems for high-risk weather, and evidence-based decisions in government, industry, and civil society. We keep the UK at the forefront of atmospheric science by supporting experimental campaigns, providing bespoke airborne and ground-based measurements, maintaining long-term observations and extensive data archives, and delivering advanced modelling capabilities. The National Centre for Atmospheric Science is supported by the Natural Environment Research Council and has a community of 270 staff embedded across UK universities and research institutes.
