Flow Owner Manager is a Power Platform ToolBox tool that updates the primary owner of cloud flows within a named solution. Results can optionally be limited to flows currently owned by a specified user.
- Resolves a solution by its unique name in the active Dataverse connection.
- Finds its workflow components and selects cloud flows.
- Optionally filters those flows by their current owner's Azure AD Object ID.
- Resolves the new owner to a Dataverse system user.
- Shows a preview before making changes.
- Updates each workflow's primary
owneridthrough the ToolBox Dataverse API and reports individual results.
Unlike co-owner role assignment, this changes the primary owner recorded on the Dataverse workflow row.
Ownership updates are privileged, externally visible changes. Review the preview carefully before selecting Update owners.
The active ToolBox identity must be able to read solutions, solution components, workflows, and system users and must have permission to update workflow records. The target user must exist as a Dataverse systemuser in the environment.
The tool uses ToolBox host APIs and does not handle access tokens directly. It does not intentionally persist solution names, user IDs, flow IDs, or update results.
- Select the intended Dataverse connection in Power Platform ToolBox.
- Enter the solution unique name, not its display name.
- Optionally enter and verify the current owner's Azure AD Object ID.
- Enter and verify the new owner's Azure AD Object ID.
- Select Find flows.
- Review every flow in the preview.
- Select Update owners and review the per-flow result list.
Verification indicators are cleared when an Object ID or active connection changes.
- Node.js 20.19 or newer for development
- Power Platform ToolBox 1.2.0 or newer
- An active Dataverse connection with the required privileges
- A target user who has been provisioned in the environment
npm ci
npm run dev
npm run lint
npm test
npm run buildA normal browser does not provide toolboxAPI or dataverseAPI. Host-integrated behavior must be tested inside Power Platform ToolBox.
npm run format:check

npm test
npm run build
npm run community:check
npm audit --omit=dev --audit-level=high
npm run package:checkThe official npm run validate command checks the public manifest and repository URLs anonymously.
The production build is written to dist/:

│ └── tool.svg

└── package.json
The build produces relative paths and a non-module IIFE application suitable for the ToolBox local-file loader. The verification script checks its entry points, asset paths, and manifest.
This public repository contains the complete maintainable source, tests, and release tooling for Flow Owner Manager. AVI-SPL maintains its canonical internal copy in the Power Platform ToolBox monorepo.
