Make fails with 'No rule to make target 'ohEye.1.arm'

I'm running:
Linux raspberrypi 4.14.98-v7+ #1200 SMP Tue Feb 12 20:27:48 GMT 2019 armv7l GNU/Linux

and I've tried quite a few things. hardware works with my python script but I'd like to get it going with this Pd external.
Yes, I'm running Pd as root
