Problem

Website CI fails on desktop and mobile because the changelog smoke test requires zero Prerelease badges. Publishing 0.24.0-beta.0 correctly added one, making the test's assumption stale. The website build succeeds; the subsequent browser test fails.

Fix

Read series titles, links, and metadata from the generated changelog index and verify that the browser renders them. Keep the newest-first ordering and exactly-one-latest-stable assertions, and check the prerelease badge count against the published metadata. Generator unit tests continue to own release-status policy.

This changes tests only, includes an empty maintenance Changeset, and is independent of the binary-navigation fix in #1178. Rebased onto current main after #1178 merged.

Verification

Tested on Linux with Bun 1.4.2:

  • bun run website:check — pass
  • bun run website:build — pass, rerun after rebase
  • bun run website:links — pass
  • bun run website:test:browser — 103 passed, 1 skipped across desktop and mobile Chromium; rerun after rebase
  • bun test scripts/generate/generate-changelog.test.ts — 102 passed
  • Changed-file formatting and lint — pass

Not tested on macOS or Windows. No production UI or generated changelog files changed.

Rebased onto latest main (259901c) and resolved the overlapping changelog smoke-test fix. Kept the dynamic prerelease count and consolidated the source read into the series-metadata helper; this PR additionally verifies every rendered series title, link, and metadata line. Revalidated website check/build/links, all 103 desktop/mobile browser tests (1 skip), 102 generator tests, and changed-file lint/format.
