Summary

  • The menu opens every time: it used to appear only once macOS let the app activate, which macOS can refuse right after an update relaunches the app in the background. It's now a non-activating panel that opens without activating the app and closes when it loses focus. The click on the icon that took the focus away doesn't reopen it. When a menu bar manager such as Bartender keeps the icon off screen, the menu opens where the click was. A file picker opened from Settings still leaves the menu open underneath.
  • Menu position: like other apps' menus, it opens with its left corner below the icon instead of centered on it, and moves left only when there isn't room before the screen's edge.
  • Disabled accounts in grey: a disabled account's line behaves like any other, with its bars in grey instead of their colors. Its name stays dimmed, and "Disabled" remains in the VoiceOver label only.
  • Hover highlight: every clickable line (accounts, back rows, Refresh, Open CPAMC, Settings…, Quit) gets a light highlight under the pointer, and no text changes on hover. The refresh line keeps showing when it last updated (VoiceOver still calls it Refresh), and the footer rows no longer turn blue.
  • README: says disabled accounts are shown in grey. The overview screenshot now shows the disabled account's bar in grey; the rest is the existing capture.
  • Bumps the version to 0.8.0 (build 8) and rebuilds the signed distribution.

Test plan

  • swift build and swift test (48 passing)
  • Rendered the demo menu offscreen: grey bars for the disabled account, a highlight on every clickable line, and unchanged text on hover
  • Signed build: signatures verified, plugin ABI checks passed; the build before the position change was installed and run locally as 0.8.0
  • Open the menu from the icon and check that its left corner sits below the icon

…s on hover

The menu sometimes stayed closed: it only showed once macOS let the app
activate, which it can refuse right after an update relaunches the app in
the background, and it was left off screen while a menu bar manager kept
the status item hidden. It is now a non-activating panel that opens
without activation, closes when it loses focus, and opens where the click
was when the item has no screen.

A disabled account's line behaves like any other, with its bars in grey.
Every clickable line gets a light highlight on hover; no text changes, so
the refresh line keeps showing when it last updated. Version 0.8.0
(build 8).

Only morgan's Codex bar changes; the rest is the existing on-screen capture.

Like other apps' menus, it extends to the right of the icon and moves left
only when there isn't room before the screen's edge. When the icon is
hidden, its corner sits where the click was.
