Strip the space the Store puts in front of the installer switches - #74
Conversation
The first real submission got as far as updating the draft and was refused: the API returns installerParameters with a leading space, and counts it against a 40-character limit the three Inno switches meet exactly. Also corrects the wizard, which described the Store ID as twelve characters when an EXE app's is fourteen. Co-Authored-By: Claude Fable 5.1 <noreply@anthropic.com>

Microsoft Store EXE app Store ID XP prefix 14 characters accepted format official documentation
💡 Result:
For a **Microsoft Store app submitted as an EXE/MSI**, don’t treat an `XP…` value as a 14-character Store ID. Microsoft’s documentation describes a product **Store ID as 12 alphanumeric characters** (for example, `9NBLGGH4R315`); the Store ID is shown in Partner Center. ([learn.microsoft.com](https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/uwp/monetize/in-app-purchases-and-trials?utm_source=openai))
There’s a separate ID distinction for unpackaged EXE/MSI apps: Microsoft’s Store Developer CLI documentation says their **product ID is a GUID**. ([learn.microsoft.com](https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/apps/publish/msstore-dev-cli/commands?utm_source=openai))
So the official formats found are **12-character Store ID** or, in that EXE/MSI CLI context, a **GUID**—not an `XP`-prefixed 14-character ID. Check the exact field you’re populating in Partner Center or your integration; “Store ID” and “product ID” may refer to different identifiers.

The 14-character instruction is incorrect.
The repository uses the value as the {productId} path segment in submission/v1/product/{productId}. Repository tests define the accepted EXE Store ID shape as XP plus 10 characters, for 12 characters total. The new instruction can cause users to enter a 14-character ID that does not match the repository's established Store ID format and may be rejected by the Store API.

What
The first real Store submission (0.7.0) authenticated, read the draft, and was refused on the update:
The API returns
installerParameterswith a leading space that was never typed, and counts it against a 40-character limit that/VERYSILENT /SUPPRESSMSGBOXES /NORESTARTmeets exactly. The script now strips it before sending the package back. Also corrects the wizard, which described an EXE app's Store ID as twelve characters; it is fourteen.
Verification
store-submit.ymlwas dispatched from this branch for 0.7.0 and succeeded: the draft was repointed, the Store scanned the installer, and the submission was accepted for certification.🤖 Generated with Claude Code
