Summary

  • New Mac.apk (macOS, Apple Silicon) subsection under Android Runtime Targets, alongside BlueStacks/Waydroid/docker-android.
  • Mac.apk runs Android apps as genuine native macOS processes — no emulator, no VM, no Linux underneath — a different, lighter-weight model than BlueStacks' full Android emulator on Apple Silicon.
  • injection_mode: pynput works the same way as BlueStacks (confirmed from Mac.apk's own docs: "the keyboard reaches the app as a keyboard" — standard macOS keyboard events to the focused window).
  • Flagged honestly where it's less certain: no documented in-app audio-device picker (unlike an Android emulator), so BlackHole routing likely has to happen at the system level rather than an in-app setting — not verified. No ADB on this target, since there's no real Android OS instance underneath.
  • Added to the synced one-liner description in README.md/setup.py.

Test plan

  • Verified via Mac.apk's own README and wiki pages (Controls-and-Input, How-Mac.apk-Works) rather than guessed
  • Anchor/heading structure checked against the existing Android Runtime Targets section
  • Not tested: this hasn't been run by the maintainer (Mac.apk requires macOS 26.4+ and Apple Silicon); flagged explicitly in the new section's audio-routing caveat

Mac.apk runs Android apps as genuine native macOS processes - no
emulator, no VM, no Linux underneath - unlike BlueStacks' full
Android-emulator approach. On macOS 26.4+/Apple Silicon this is a
lighter-weight alternative for hosting Zello (or another PTT app).

Keyboard input reaches the focused app window the same way pynput
already works for BlueStacks ("the keyboard reaches the app as a
keyboard" per Mac.apk's own docs); audio routing is flagged as less
settled since there's no documented in-app audio-device picker the
way an Android emulator has, and there's no ADB on this target since
it isn't running a real Android OS instance.

Also adds it to the synced one-liner description in README.md and
setup.py alongside BlueStacks/Waydroid/docker-android.
