Current can_test accidentally hard-codex message.xtd to zero, which prevents sending extended CAN messages through can_test. This patch sets the value based on the requested CAN ID. Not perfectly ideal (technically you can have a small extended CAN ID, but it's rare), but works better than it currently does.
