Purpose

Publish LMCache wheels for Python 3.12, CUDA 13.4.1 and NVIDIA PyTorch 26.08 from the complete integration/local-inference-lab source branch.

This PR changes build infrastructure, not the cache implementation on dev. The integration branch separately merges the attributed runtime reviews #49, #50, #51, #55, #56, #61, #62, #65 and #66. PR #49 includes the filesystem ledger correction from #67.

Build contract

  • A relevant push to integration/local-inference-lab builds and publishes a source-addressed beta wheel on the resource-bounded frank2 worker.
  • Preserve compiler/download caches and serialize native builds with the shared worker lock.
  • Compile native C++/CUDA extensions against the declared SM120 toolchain and normalize runtime library paths.
  • Require all nine public PR heads in Git ancestry and the checkpoint/native source files before building.
  • Compare every committed Python module with its installed wheel payload and publish the source receipt, checksums and direct-download requirements.
  • Stable tags promote the beta wheel bytes; they do not recompile them or assert model qualification. Stable reuse requires an independent beta asset comparison.
  • Installed-wheel checks use Python isolated mode to exclude caller checkouts and PYTHONPATH.

The branch uses integration/ because Git cannot create dev/local-inference-lab alongside the existing dev ref.

Validation

Status: qualified for packaging and source-preservation checks; full GLM cache serving qualification is separate.

  • 37 packaging and source-preservation tests pass, including missing/modified checkpoint modules and receipts, complete asset inventories, independent-reference comparisons and invalid promotion records.
  • The integrated runtime/native sources match the community reference 29bc5a2e without differences. Its Git composition preserves every required public review head and contributor history.
  • Push-triggered Actions run 34783470001 built and published the complete community wheel.
  • The earlier CUDA 13.4 beta built from plain dev lacks the nine review units and is not an equivalent community cache replacement.

Summary by CodeRabbit

  • New Features

    • Added distribution support for LMCache wheels targeting CUDA 13.4 and SM120 GPUs.
    • Added bundled installation tools that verify artifact checksums and validate successful imports.
    • Added reproducible wheel and source archive releases with pinned runtime requirements.
    • Added release promotion safeguards to ensure stable assets match their beta counterparts.
    • Added source-integrity receipts and validation for published packages.
  • Tests

    • Added coverage for wheel normalization, source validation, and release asset verification.

The first beta release can publish a coordinated substituted asset set whose checksums and metadata are internally consistent. Add an independent reference before publishing this security-sensitive release artifact.

CUDA 13.4 wheel build validation on the resource-bounded self-hosted runner passed for commit b948270. The CPython 3.12 wheel is 14,459,458 bytes with SHA-256 de501f03005ce1de9523e2a2b013102f82479c78a43752a95c3a646710839a1c. The manifest records NVIDIA PyTorch 26.08, CUDA 13.4.1, and SM120a. Import and serving qualification will be reported from the assembled Qwen runtime.

Please review the publisher and shared-worker scheduling changes. The CUDA 13.4 component beta has been built and published; the assembled Qwen TP1/MTP3 runtime passes text/vision and CUDA-graph checks with standalone B12X. Runtime kernel sources are unchanged by the scheduling commits.

Build wheels on dev/local-inference-lab and require the checkpoint and filesystem review ancestry. Verify all committed Python modules against the wheel and publish a source receipt. Eight packaging tests pass; cache runtime qualification is separate.

Container validation of integration/local-inference-lab at 09c69b3 is complete for the native/cache contract scope: the published wheel was installed without runtime source mounts; native GPU imports pass and all 90 tests from checkpoint identity/index/storage, native filesystem connector and vLLM semantic checkpoint transfer pass with no skips. Evidence: https://github.com/local-inference-lab/blackwell-llm-docker/actions/runs/34784142021 . This does not claim full-model GLM restore or throughput qualification.

Require the source receipt and complete checksum inventory, compare reuse with independent build bytes, and verify installed modules in isolated mode. Cache implementation and attributed integration sources are unchanged. Validation: 37 packaging tests, actual integration beta assets, changed-file pre-commit and actionlint pass.

Require an independent reference for the first beta publication.

In build-beta, the first-publication branch verifies built-release without --reference-directory, then publishes ${output}. Without an independent byte comparison, coordinated asset and checksum changes can pass the self-consistency checks. Build or obtain a separate reference artifact and pass it with --reference-directory before gh release create.
