RDY Signal Oscillating on original Amiga floppy

I’m a bit confused by the signal test on a real Chinnon Amiga floppy drive, the drive doesn’t load a few games known not to load without a ready signal, read/write tests pass but the rdy line is constantly being incremented in signal test.

I assumed it should only come up once with a disk inserted, is this an indication of a failing disk detection switch or an incompatibility with this drive as the test kit? I’d assume the former?

Actually, a hard reset confusingly got those games working again. Still curious why the rdy signal may be oscillating though

If the drive is direct connected as DF0 then that is definitely confusing. RDY does oscillate in tandem with drive select when motor is disabled, for external drives. This is part of external drive detection. It's probably not involved in your case though.
