One client. Thirteen Call of Duty titles. Built on the latest upstream IW4L.
It does not ship or download game files. It reads the legitimate installs you already own and adds per-game support so maps, guns, attachments, and modes from those installs can load and play inside the same client.
Modern Warfare 2 is required. Everything else is optional and treated as a DLC-style namespace so work on one title does not risk the base client.
This repository contains the full upstream IW4L codebase plus project documentation and research notes. It does not contain or redistribute any game assets.
- One client for thirteen titles. MW2 is the base. Call of Duty 3, COD4, World at War, Black Ops, MW3, Black Ops 2, Advanced Warfare, Call of Duty: Ghosts, Call of Duty Online, Black Ops 3, Infinite Warfare, and Future Warfare (NX1) are targeted as optional namespaces.
- DLC-style isolation. Each additional title is developed on its own branch (
dlc/nx1,dlc/bo2,dlc/ghosts, etc.). Work lands without touching the stable main branch. - Always build from source. No prebuilt binaries are distributed. Clone and build. See docs/BUILD-FROM-SOURCE.md.
- Research notes in-tree. Format observations and asset inventories live in
docs/findings/. Tool pointers and modding notes live indocs/resources/. Working notes live indocs/notes/. - Related projects. NX1 Reborn (maintained static recomp of Future Warfare) and COD3 Recomp (maintained recomp of Call of Duty 3) feed into the same client.
Also includes mashup content from the IW4L mashup fork (Skate 3 and Minecraft) where applicable.
Additional titles are treated as namespaces / DLC categories (the same way other titles sit behind their own family IDs in upstream). They do not fork the core render path. Each title contributes its own maps, weapons, attachments, and modes only when a reader and integration path exists.

This repo tracks the latest upstream IW4L. Follow the upstream build instructions in the original README sections below or in docs/.
You must supply your own legitimate game installs. Nothing in this repository replaces or includes game files.
To stay current with upstream:
git remote add upstream https://github.com/vladtrc/iw4L.git
git fetch upstream
git merge upstream/masterEach additional title is developed on its own branch (dlc/nx1, dlc/bo2, dlc/ghosts, etc.) so work can land without risking the stable main branch. See docs/DLC.md.
