I ran our pack's race this last year on a different software (mostly because the outgoing director used it and I was overwhelmed). Following our race I started looking at our options and DerbyNet really looks superior. The only snag is that we always ran our derby in "dynamic" mode, which rebalances racers after their heats so that the faster cars continue against the faster cars, and the slower cars are re-allocated into heats with each other. The idea is that the top times still win, but slower cars have a better chance at winning a heat at least.
I think we'll migrate over all the same, but the greater number of heat winners was something that a lot of kids/parents picked up on, and I really want to keep it moving forward.
