Solar Eclipse Atlas

Solar Eclipse Atlas is an interactive field guide to every total solar eclipse between 2026 and 2100. It lets you explore where totality crosses Earth, follow the Moon’s umbra as it moves across the surface, and understand what an eclipse looks like from different locations and times.

Choose an eclipse from the catalogue to reveal its complete totality corridor across oceans, cities, deserts, and remote regions. Each eclipse has a descriptive regional name and a shareable date link.

Move the Sun slider through the event to see the shadow travel along the path. The interface shows local solar time first, with UTC alongside it, and updates the Sun’s altitude and azimuth, umbra area, and ground speed. The global day/night boundary makes sunrise, sunset, and eclipses occurring below the horizon immediately apparent.

Switch to the 3D globe for a more intuitive view of the illuminated and dark sides of Earth. On smaller screens, the eclipse catalogue is available from the menu so the map and timeline remain usable.

The atlas includes:

  • all total solar eclipses from 2026 through 2100;
  • detailed totality corridors and moving umbra positions;
  • local solar time, UTC, Sun position, shadow area, and ground speed;
  • global day/night visualization in 2D and globe lighting in 3D;
  • mobile navigation and shareable eclipse and timeline links.

The eclipse catalogue and path calculations are based on data from the NASA / GSFC Eclipse Web Site.
