🧩 Mini Regex Guide for Game Matching

This app supports regular expressions (regex) for flexible and powerful game filtering. Here's a quick reference:

🔤 Case Insensitive Matching
Use (?i) to ignore case differences:
(?i)halo
Matches: HALO, Halo, halo, etc.

🔗 Flexible Separators
Games may use spaces, underscores, hyphens, or dots. Match them with:
[\s._-]*

Example:
call[\s.-]*of[\s.-]*duty
Matches: Call of Duty, Call_of_Duty, Call-of-Duty, Call.of.Duty

🌍 Region Filtering
To match only USA or World versions:
.*(usa|world)

Combine with game name:
(?i).halo.(usa|world)

🎮 Multiple Game Titles
Use | to match any of several games:
(?i).(halo.(usa|world)|minecraft.(usa|world)|doom.(usa|world))

🧪 Testing Tips

• Use regex101.com to test and debug your patterns.
• Escape special characters like '.' if you mean a literal dot: halo.world

📦 Example: Popular Games Filter
(?i).(halo.(usa|world)|call[\s.-]*of[\s.-]duty.(usa|world)|minecraft.(usa|world)|doom.(usa|world)|fallout.*(usa|world))

This matches popular Xbox 360 games only if they include "USA" or "World" in the filename.
