Rationale / Fundamento

The archival of digital data matters because our history, culture, governance and science increasingly exist in that form. Without proper intervention, this data disappears. 38% of webpages that existed in 2013 are no longer accessible a decade later. Over 50% of Wikipedia articles have references to sites that no longer exist. Most of data lives on obsolete media, from diskettes, Zip disks to tapes. This is a continuos effort to preserve repositories in the Bitbucket realm.

This repository has enabled the GitHub Archive Program.
