[shared-ci] docker (hive) failing across hivecommons/hive #10623
Description
Shared CI incident — v5 baseline red since 2026-10-05T15:08Z
Every PR targeting v5 fails the same set of checks regardless of its diff. Fingerprint taken from #10608, a docs-only PR (src/docs/api-reference.md), which still fails docker (hive), overlayfs-exec-guard, golangci-lint, test, and every test (…) shard — so the cause is the base branch, not the PRs.
Root causes (all merged to v5 today)
- 367c593 (🐛 feedback: attribute dashboard feedback issues to the submitter #10593) —
pkg/dashboard/feedback.go:80andpkg/hub/feedback.go:378compile(?=…)lookahead, which Go RE2 rejects. Both binaries panic ininit():→panic: regexp: Compile(`^[A-Za-z0-9](?:[A-Za-z0-9]|-(?=[A-Za-z0-9])){0,38}(?:\[bot\])?$`): error parsing regexp: invalid or unsupported Perl syntax: `(?=` github.com/hivecommons/hive/pkg/dashboard.init() /src/pkg/dashboard/feedback.go:80docker (hive)smoke test exits 2,overlayfs-exec-guardreports the stable/candidate/edge images: hive binary fails exec with EPERM from /usr/local/bin/hive (works when copied elsewhere) #3760 "failed to exec IN PLACE" (rc=2, really the panic),golangci-lintSA1000 on both files, everypkg/dashboard/pkg/hubtest shard red. - 367c593 (🐛 feedback: attribute dashboard feedback issues to the submitter #10593) also registered
GET /api/feedback/statuswithout adashboard/openapi.jsonentry →TestOpenAPISpecCoversEveryRegisteredRoute(420 registered, 410 documented). - 367c593 (🐛 feedback: attribute dashboard feedback issues to the submitter #10593) shifted every later
pkg/dashboard/api.goregistration by one line → 259 drifted citations insrc/docs/api-reference.md→relative links and anchors resolve(runscheck-api-reference-citations.sh). - de28cbf (✨ dashboard: add collapsed project repo pills #10616) changed the
visualSectionSummarycondition inindex.htmlbut leftagent_collapsed_tiles_test.go:38asserting the old string →TestAgentsCollapsedSummaryRendersPerAgentTiles.
v5 push CI: run 37336226097 (de28cbf) — docker (hive) + overlayfs-exec-guard red; previous four pushes (367c593, c60b0a3, 145aed5, b477463) also red; last green was 9f9d672 at 14:41Z.
Fix
#10612 now carries all four fixes (RE2-safe regexp in both packages, OpenAPI entry, collapsed-summary assertion, citation refresh cdc8627). Once it merges and PRs rebase/update, the fingerprint clears. #10617 and #10608 overlap it and become redundant.
Affected PRs (deferred, stamped <!-- hive-shared-ci-N -->)
#10589, #10594, #10602, #10604, #10606, #10608, #10611, #10613, #10614, #10617, #10618 — every open v5 PR opened or updated after 15:08Z.
Do not repair these PR-by-PR; re-run them after #10612 lands.

Claimed by mendezr until 2026-10-05T20:54:07Z. The claim lapses on its own after that; a pull request referencing this issue supersedes it.

The docker smoke-test init panic is already fixed by merged PR #10617 (commit 0904d04), verified present on upstream/v5, the repository default branch. That commit replaces the unsupported lookahead in both dashboard and hub validators, adds regression tests, and refreshes the API-reference citations.
The remaining baseline fixes (feedback/status OpenAPI coverage and collapsed-summary assertion, plus hermetic promotion tests and style ratchet) are already carried by open PR #10612 targeting v5. No duplicate patch is needed for this incident. This does not claim that the remaining baseline checks are green before #10612 lands.

If this was closed by a merged PR, the fix only takes effect once it ships in a tagged release and your deployment updates to it — check your running version against the fix before concluding the fix failed.
