Work in progress. Please don't merge yet. This PR fills up over several days. I post a plain-language progress comment each time a piece lands.

Summary

Agent browser automation works on Windows today, but it isn't safe or finished:

  • On macOS and Linux it can't read results from real https pages. The page has to call back into termul, and Tauri blocks those calls from websites.
  • Agents browse with your own cookies.
  • One "allow" covers every website.
  • Web pages can reach termul's own local servers.

This PR makes agent browsing work on all three OSes and adds the safety layers:

  • a separate login profile for agents;
  • origin checks;
  • prompts for risky actions;
  • a Stop button;
  • tests that run on real browser engines in CI.

Related Issue

No related issue. This is planned work, not a reported bug. I searched open and closed PRs and found no duplicate.

Type of Change

  • feat: new feature
  • fix: bug fix
  • ci: CI/CD workflow changes

What Changed

The work lands in steps. Each step is ticked when it's on this branch.

  • Upgrade Tauri to 2.12.4, and block camera, mic, location and other web permission requests in every browser tab
  • Split the browser code into an engine-neutral core plus one engine part per OS; the tool's input format comes from one place and is honest about what each OS supports
  • Test pages and a test runner on real engines, in CI on Windows, macOS and Linux
  • Security perimeter: browser tabs can't run termul commands or reach termul's own servers
  • One host-owned list of tabs; navigation counts as done only when the page really loads
  • Read pages safely on all three OSes, in a script space page code can't see or tamper with
  • Browser policy per project and app-wide (allowed sites, pre-approvals), with a settings screen on desktop and phone
  • Agent login profile shared across projects, plus a throwaway mode per project
  • Origin checks, consent that can be answered from desktop or remote, and a Stop button
  • Prompts for risky actions: password or payment submits, uploads, downloads
  • Trusted input where the engine allows it, with checks before every click
  • Dialogs, file pickers, downloads, popups and new actions (select, check, drag, smarter wait, switch tab)
  • Console and network reading where the engine allows it, plus iframes and shadow DOM

How It Was Tested

  • cargo clippy --all-targets -- -D warnings (in src-tauri)
  • cargo test (in src-tauri)
  • bun run typecheck
  • Manual verification completed

Filled in per step as it lands. So far:

  • Tauri upgrade: cargo clippy --all-targets -- -D warnings is green on macOS 14 and Ubuntu 22.04 CI.
  • cargo test --lib on Windows passes 2625 tests. 18 fail, and those are known Windows-only environment failures in untouched code.
  • On a real app run, a tab on https://example.com had camera, mic, location and clipboard-read refused, and each refusal shows in the log.

CI & Review Gate

  • All CI checks pass
  • CodeRabbit and Claude review comments addressed or resolved
  • No unresolved review findings remain

Checklist

  • My PR title follows the conventional commit format used by this repo
  • I linked the related issue or explained why none exists
  • I updated docs when needed
  • I added or updated tests when needed
  • I verified the change does not introduce unrelated modifications
  • I read AGENTS.md and followed the contributor guidelines
  • A human reviewed the complete diff before submission

Size note. When finished, this PR will be bigger than the 50-file guideline, because the work was requested as a single branch. Each step lands as its own commit so it can be reviewed one commit at a time.

Summary by CodeRabbit

  • New Features
    • Added app-wide and project-specific browser settings for allowed sites, pre-approved actions, and shared or temporary login profiles.
    • Added controls to clear shared profile data, with confirmation based on the number of affected sessions and projects.
    • Expanded browser automation with tab management, navigation, page snapshots, screenshots, and available page interactions.
    • Browser actions now request consent, and web permissions default to denied.
  • Improvements
    • Browser automation reports unavailable capabilities and errors more clearly and respects action time limits.
    • Updated Tauri components to newer versions.

…ser tabs

Move tauri to 2.12.4 (wry 0.57, webview2-com 0.39, windows-core 0.62) and
align @tauri-apps/api and the CLI with it. Every browser tab webview now
registers a permission handler that denies all web permission requests
(camera, microphone, geolocation, notifications, clipboard, ...) and logs
the kind and tab label only.

Progress update 1

Landed: Tauri is now on 2.12.4. Every browser tab now refuses camera, mic, location and other permission requests, and each refusal is logged. I tried it on https://example.com in the real app, and every request was refused. Before this change, macOS let tabs use the camera and mic without asking.

What the Windows test run found:

  • The old way of reading pages is blocked on websites. Tauri blocks a website's calls back into termul, so pages have to be read a different way.
  • Windows can do this safely. Termul can run its own scripts in a separate space inside the page that page code can't see or tamper with, and that works inside cross-site iframes too. Mouse hover, scroll and drag all count as real user input, and they don't take focus from your chat.
  • Agent logins can stay separate from yours. One dedicated agent login profile works and survives a restart. Throwaway sessions each need their own folder, because private mode alone lets two sessions see each other's cookies.
  • One security hole showed up. In dev builds, a tab pointed at termul's own dev server could run termul commands. The security step closes it.

Running now:

  • the macOS and Linux tests;
  • splitting the browser code into a core plus one engine part per OS;
  • test pages and CI on all three OSes;
  • the security perimeter.

Next up is the browser policy settings screen.

Progress update 2

The macOS and Linux tests are done. They ran on GitHub's macOS 14 and 15 machines and on Ubuntu 22.04 and 24.04, under both X11 and Wayland.

Linux works well. Clicks, typing, hover, scroll and mouse drags all count as real user input, and your chat keeps focus. One catch: to keep focus in the chat, the agent's tab has to stay unfocusable while it acts. Page drag-and-drop doesn't work, so we won't claim it.

macOS is mixed:

  • Clicks and scroll count as real user input.
  • Drag only half works, so it's reported as simulated.
  • Hover only works through a hidden Apple API. Without it, hover is reported as simulated.
  • Plain simulated typing ends up in your chat box instead of the agent's tab, so it will never ship. Typing will use a text-insert method that leaves your chat alone.

Camera and mic blocking works on all three. Without our blocker, macOS quietly gave pages the microphone.

Started now: origin checks (local dev servers need no prompt, termul's own ports are blocked), consent you can answer from desktop or phone, and the Stop button.

Two choices I'm making unless you say otherwise:

  • Hover on macOS: no hidden Apple API. Hover gets reported as simulated instead.
  • Typing on macOS: the text-insert method. Key presses (Enter, Tab and so on) get reported as simulated. The alternative briefly moves focus to the agent tab for each key, and that could interfere with typing in other languages.

Comment thread src-tauri/src/browser_tab_manager.rs
Move the agent browser host into an engine-agnostic core (tab registry,
consent, verb dispatch, reply shaping, boundary logs) that drives engines
only through a capability-level BrowserEngine trait. Per-OS code moves
into engine adapters: WebView2 over a CdpTransport (with the JS bridge
as its one fallback) and the JS bridge alone on macOS and Linux.

Engine errors now carry a kind and a retry flag instead of engine text,
so agent-facing engine failures use fixed host messages. A layering test
fails if core or the shared CDP code mentions platform crates or per-OS
cfg, or if an adapter reaches into the core.
Define the two host-service traits the core will consume: a
host-originated consent ticket (fixed allow-session, allow-project and
deny options mapped to ACP permission kinds, closed display fields, an
immediate unattended outcome) and an operation-based policy store with a
revision compare-and-swap and a read-only state for newer files.

Also add canonical origins and allow-list patterns (exact or strict
subdomain only), idempotent policy operations, and in-memory fakes so
the consent and policy work can build against the ports.
One action registry (verb, typed arguments, required and one-of rules,
required capabilities) is now the single source for the browser tool's
input schema and description, argument validation, the invalid_params
expected-field text, and the boundary log's argument key names.

The host_mcp child no longer embeds any browser tool text: at startup it
fetches the schema with a token-authenticated describe frame and serves
no browser tool if that fails. It forwards the raw tool arguments, and
the parent folds flat and nested forms and rejects string args. Verbs
that need a capability the engine reports unavailable are left out of
the schema and refused with capability_unavailable before consent.
Every browser reply is now one closed JSON shape: ok, the frozen wire
code plus a finer reason and a host-written message on failure,
fidelity (trusted or synthetic) on every mutating action, host facts
under tab (id, epoch, canonical origin, profile), page-derived text only
under an untrusted page object, and other host data under data.

Click fidelity follows the input actually used, including the synthetic
fallback. Page-side helper error text no longer reaches the reply; it
maps to host templates. The child forwards the reply JSON verbatim as
MCP structured content. A tab-surface seam lets tests drive every verb
through the real host against a fake pane and engine, and a reply-shape
test covers each action.
Every browser time budget now lives in one module: the child's round
trip (served to it in the describe reply), the consent wait, tab open,
settle and wait limits, and the per-engine eval and CDP steps. Each verb
in the action registry names its worst-case budget.

The parent stamps an absolute deadline on each browser frame, a margin
before the child gives up. The consent wait and the settle and wait
loops end at that deadline, and after consent the core refuses a verb
whose budget no longer fits with timeout and reason deadline instead of
running it after the agent has stopped listening. A child-side timeout
now reports timeout rather than internal. A test checks that consent
plus the largest verb budget plus the margin fits inside the round trip.
The standalone server registers no automation host. Its host_mcp child
now still advertises the browser tool, with a description that says
automation needs the desktop app, and every call returns
capability_unavailable with reason no_automation_host at once, including
malformed calls. Tests drive the real child and parent with no host
registered, and a source check keeps host registration out of the
server composition.
Per-project allow-list, pre-approvals and ephemeral opt-out, plus the
app-wide shared-profile switch, app pre-approvals and a clear-profile hook.
Edits are operations behind a revision compare-and-swap, written atomically
under app data, and announced as browser_policy_changed. Commands and
routes call one service so both return identical bodies.
Adds the Browser settings section (per-project allow-list, pre-approvals,
logged-out browsing, shared agent profile, clear profile with confirm), the
policy facade over Tauri commands and HTTP routes with reload-and-retry on a
stale revision, the browser_policy_changed watch hook and parity coverage.
A browser_policy_changed hint travels as a watch delta that no state
repairs, so a resubscribe now tells open policy views to reload.

Progress update 3

Two more pieces landed on this branch.

Browser code split into a core plus engine parts. The browser code is now split into a part that doesn't care about the OS and one part per OS. No file goes past the 800-line limit. The agent's browser tool now comes from termul itself:

  • It only lists actions this computer can actually do. Anything else returns capability_unavailable instead of quietly doing something different.
  • Every reply that changes the page says whether the input was real or simulated.
  • Text that comes from the web page is kept in its own page section, so agents treat it as untrusted.
  • Every call has a time limit, so none can hang forever.
  • On termul-server, which has no browser, the tool always says it's not available.

Browser policy settings. Desktop and phone both get a Browser settings screen:

  • Per project: the list of allowed sites, saved pre-approvals, and an "always start logged out" switch.
  • App-wide: whether agents share one login profile, app-wide pre-approvals, and a "clear agent logins" button.

Two people editing at once can't overwrite each other. Termul's own addresses can't be added to the allowed list, and passwords and payments can never be pre-approved on the shared profile. I tested it in the real app at desktop width and in a phone-width browser.

Running now:

  • the tab registry, so tabs always show their real address and title;
  • origin checks, consent and Stop;
  • the security perimeter;
  • test pages and CI on all three OSes;
  • a review of the core split by a second model.

Check the reserved-origin rule in allows and preapproves, not only when an entry is added.

The reserved-origin rule runs only in parse_allowed and preapproval_origin, so it only applies to edits. allows and preapproves match the stored entries without checking reserved_kind. Three cases bypass the rule stated in origin.rs, which says termul listeners and metadata hosts "can never be allow-listed":

  • A port termul starts using later. A user adds http://localhost:5555. Later termul starts the shared-live host on port 5555. allows("http://localhost:5555") still returns true. a_port_termul_starts_listening_on_later_is_refused_at_the_next_edit covers new edits only. It does not cover the entry that already exists. The OwnedPorts doc says the ports are "read at the moment of a check", and this case breaks that.
  • Suffix patterns over reserved hosts. parse_allowed accepts http://*.google.internal. Its parent google.internal is not reserved, and the localhost-suffix guard does not cover it. That pattern then matches http://metadata.google.internal.
  • Edited policy files. store::pattern_entries loads entries with OriginPattern::parse, not parse_allowed. A hand-edited file can therefore hold a reserved origin.

The browser engine will call these lookups for authorization. Each case above lets an agent tab reach a termul listener or a metadata endpoint without a prompt. Pass the live owned ports into both lookups and refuse reserved origins there.

Apply the same change to AppPolicy::preapproves. Add tests for *.google.internal matching metadata.google.internal, and for a port that becomes owned after its entry was added.

Update `allows` and `preapproves` to receive the current owned ports and reject
origins when `reserved_kind` identifies them as reserved before checking stored

🎯 Functional Correctness | 🟡 Minor | ⚡ Quick win

Reject a resolved rect that has no numeric cx/cy. Do not click at (0, 0).

If resolve_ref returns a rect without numeric cx/cy, unwrap_or(0.0) sends a trusted click to the top-left corner of the viewport. The helper runs in the page's main world (isolated_world: false), so the page can change this result. The fallback point is still never the element that the agent named. Treat the missing coordinates as a malformed result.

Run the synthetic click fallback only when the trusted click failed with a retryable error.

click_ref runs dom_click after any pointer_click error, unless the deadline has run out. cdp::click_at sends mousePressed and then mouseReleased. Assume mousePressed reached the page and mouseReleased then fails with Timeout/NoReply (retryable: false). The page can already have received a full click. The synthetic dom_click then clicks the element a second time. For a submit or purchase button, this sends the action twice.

engine/cdp/mod.rs documents this rule directly: only failures with EngineError::retryable set may be retried on another channel. WebView2Engine::evaluate follows that rule. This path does not.

Browser policy writes bypass the shared-live write gate.

caller admits any request with BearerVerified and assigns an unbound request CallerScope::App. It does not call crate::web::capabilities::write_decision, and PolicyRouteState does not carry WriteFlags.

In shared-live mode, a bearer-authenticated view-only client can reach both browser-policy POST handlers and submit app- or project-policy operations. These settings control browser actions and must not be widened by a view-only connection.

If policy edits are intentionally exempt from shared_live_writes_denied, document that exception and its security reason. Otherwise, add WriteFlags to PolicyRouteState and reject both POST handlers when write_decision(peer, flags) denies the write. Keep GET access available to bearer-authenticated clients.

Comment thread src-tauri/src/browser_automation/engine/jsbridge/tests.rs Fixed
…d listeners

Tab webviews no longer reach any Tauri command: the capability targets
the main webview by label, and app commands from any other webview are
rejected before they run (Tauri skips its ACL for app commands from the
dev server and app protocol origins). withGlobalTauri is off.

Tabs cannot load the app origins, termul's own ports, 0.0.0.0 or
link-local/metadata addresses; the tab manager refuses such targets
before the engine starts a request and the navigation hook cancels
page-initiated ones. Every termul HTTP listener checks Host, the
shared-live server requires its token while browser automation is
registered, agentation is never injected into agent tabs, and engine
debug switches are scrubbed from the environment at startup.
Support::Trusted and the Protocol and Malformed error kinds are only
constructed by the WebView2 adapter, so non-Windows clippy runs flagged
them as dead code.
Eval runs through CDP Runtime.evaluate in the page's main world, so the
table now declares it with the bridge engine's tier instead of claiming
an isolated world.
Fix the key parameter text that an identifier rename had corrupted, name
the reply fields each verb returns, list the failure codes with what to
do about them, and make an unknown verb's error list the valid ones.
The browser policy service now serves the core's PolicyStore port, so the
core and the policy layer share one origin type, one refusal type and one
op set. The duplicate policy types and the tests that only exercised the
test fake are gone; one contract test runs against both the service and
the in-memory fake.
The deny handler only sees new permission requests, so a grant already
saved in the webview profile could answer a page silently. On WebView2 a
new tab now resets every saved permission entry in the shared profile to
its default before the tab loads a page. WKWebView and WebKitGTK keep no
per-site grant store, so nothing needs clearing there.
The test asserted toBeVisible on actions inside the 150ms fade-in, so a
slow run read a mid-fade opacity and failed. A role query already skips
hidden elements, so the presence check keeps the accessibility proof.

Progress update 14: prompts for risky actions are on this branch

Termul now decides for itself which agent actions are risky and asks you first. It never takes the agent's word for what a click will do.

  • Password or payment form submits. If the agent is using the shared agent login, these always ask and can never be pre-approved. In a project's logged-out mode, you can pre-approve them per site for that project.
  • Uploads. Files are copied to a staging area first, and only files inside the project can be uploaded. Files that look like secrets are refused: .env, keys, id_rsa, credentials and the like. Swapping a file for a symlink while you're deciding is caught too. Uploads now work on Windows, macOS and Linux through each engine's own file picker.
  • Downloads. Termul picks the file name and saves the file under app data, never inside your project. The file is marked as downloaded from the internet, with Zone.Identifier on Windows and quarantine on macOS. Each session allows up to 20 downloads of up to 200 MB each.
  • Sending page data elsewhere. After the agent has read a page, sending data to a different site in a link or form asks first.
  • Agent tab safety rule. An agent tab only opens if that engine can catch downloads, file pickers, dialogs, popups, permission requests and external links.

Fixed along the way: on Windows, a page-opened file picker on an agent tab wasn't caught before. Now it's cancelled and the native dialog never appears.

Browser test results: 34 of 34 on Windows, macOS and Linux before the console/network merge. All three are green after it as well.

In progress:

  • landing real input and pre-click checks, with a single click path;
  • the dialog fix for a tab's first page load.

Every click, press, type and fill now goes through one path: the
actionability check, then trusted input where the engine declares it and
the page helper only where it declares synthetic. The separate trusted
click with a synthetic fallback is gone.

The actionability facts are read in the frame the ref was minted in, so
refs inside same-origin frames, open shadow roots and reachable
cross-origin frames are checked and clicked at main-frame CSS px. The hit
test follows open shadow roots and same-origin frames. Synthetic helpers
for a frame ref run in that frame, and the text helpers follow focus into
shadow roots and frames.

The native input layer forwards console pulls, child frames, frame eval
and file input setting to the engine it wraps.
Trusted keys without a ref reach whatever has focus, which can be a field
of a cross-origin frame the page's helpers cannot read. The sensitivity
probe saw only the frame element and classified nothing, so Enter could
submit a password form in that frame without a prompt. Focus inside a
frame the probe cannot read now counts as a credential form.
…tale

The sensitivity probe found a ref's element only while it was shown, so
a click on a hidden element failed as a stale ref before the
actionability check could report it as not visible.
Input lands on the element's centre. A target partly in view, such as a
button at the bottom edge of a frame, was not scrolled, and the hit test
at its centre outside the viewport read it as covered.
The focus-retention case also clicks a button inside a same-origin
frame, the path frame refs now take, and expects the chat to keep focus.

Progress update 15: real input and pre-click checks are on this branch

Every click and key press now goes through one path:

  1. Find the element and check it. It has to be the only match, visible, not moving, actually under the pointer, and enabled. If it isn't, the agent gets timeout with the reason (covered, unstable, not_visible) instead of clicking the wrong thing.
  2. Check for risky actions. Password and payment submits ask first.
  3. Send the input. It uses the strongest input the engine allows, and the reply says which kind was used.
Click Typing Key press Mouse move Scroll Drag
Windows real real real real real real
Linux real real real real real real (mouse movements)
macOS real (simulated if it would focus a field) simulated simulated simulated real simulated

On macOS, real typing would steal focus from your chat, so typing is simulated there.

This works inside iframes and shadow DOM too. Your chat keeps keyboard focus during agent input. A test checks that on all three OSes, including a click inside an iframe.

Two bugs caught while merging:

  • The new input layer quietly dropped iframe access, uploads and console reading. It now passes them through.
  • Pressing Enter in a password form inside an unreadable cross-site iframe skipped the prompt. It's now treated as a password submit and asks first.

Browser test results (54 checks per OS):

  • macOS: 48 pass, and the other 6 are known unsupported features: network reading and cross-site iframes.
  • Linux: 49 pass, and the other 5 are cross-site iframe checks.
  • Windows: 53 pass. The one failure is a dialog race on a tab's first page load, and a fix for it is in progress.

Running now:

  • the dialog first-load fix;
  • the drag action;
  • merging the latest dev, including the canvas editor;
  • cleanup: profile follow-ups, proving camera/mic denial in Windows CI, and stripping planning labels from the code.

Engine adapters attach script-dialog, observer and file-chooser hooks once
the engine confirms the webview, after the build URL's navigation already
started. A page that raised a dialog while loading could reach the engine's
own dialog instead: on WebView2 the tab then hung until the engine timeout.

Agent tabs and owned popups are now built at about:blank, for which tauri
starts no navigation, and sent to their URL through the surface's navigate
once every hook is attached. User tabs are still built at their URL.

Progress update 16: the flaky Windows dialog tests are fixed

What was wrong: an agent tab opened straight at its target page. Termul only started catching dialogs after that first page had begun loading, so a dialog on that page could sometimes show WebView2's own popup instead. The page then got stuck, and the test hit its timeout.

The fix: agent tabs and popups now open on a blank page first. Every handler gets set up: dialogs, downloads, file pickers, permissions, popups, external links and console/network. Only then does the tab go to the real page. That first blank load is invisible to the agent, the address bar and consent.

Proof: CI ran the full Windows browser suite 5 times in a row, and all 55 checks passed every time. That covers every dialog case, including a new check for a dialog raised while the page is still loading.

Running now:

  • merging the latest dev into this branch, so the PR is mergeable and CI runs again. That includes the canvas editor and release 0.4.52;
  • the drag action;
  • cleanup: profile follow-ups, the Windows camera/mic proof, and removing planning labels.

The tool router comment still named the chat-only constant after dev moved
initialize to session_instructions(), which also advertises the canvas.
Press on one ref, move to another and release there. Both refs are
checked actionable before any button goes down. Engines that declare
trusted drag use their native input path; synthetic engines run a page
helper that sends pointer and mouse events within one frame. HTML5
drag-and-drop is not claimed. Engines without drag report
capability_unavailable and do not list the verb.
A pointer-event slider and reorder list, with the case checking the reply
fidelity against what the page saw.

Progress update 17: all 14 steps are on this branch, and the branch is up to date with dev

New since the last update:

  • Drag. An agent can drag one element onto another. Both elements are checked before the mouse goes down. The drag is real input on Windows and Linux and simulated on macOS. Built-in browser drag-and-drop is not claimed on macOS or Linux.
  • dev merged in. That covers everything up to and including the canvas font, export and file-naming fixes. The earlier merge passed the full browser tests on Windows, macOS and Linux. The newest 7 dev commits merged with no conflicts, and this PR's CI is checking them now.

Still in progress:

  • Cleanup. Already done: permissions for the shared agent login are taken back when a project opts out, password saving is turned off in agent tabs, cookies for local dev servers are cleared on start, and the capability table now lists the agent profile. Still left: the Windows camera/mic proof, plus removing planning labels and leftover references from the code.
  • Final review. A second model is reviewing the whole PR, focused on security and correctness.

After that: an end-to-end run with a real agent on a real site and a local dev server.

frame.height = '160';
frame.style.border = '7px solid #888';
frame.style.padding = '5px';
frame.src = src;
var loads = 0;
document.getElementById('reload').addEventListener('click', function () {
loads += 1;
frame.src = src + '?load=' + loads;
…lose

Opting a project out of the global agent profile, or turning the
global-profile switch off, closed the affected global tabs but left the
session's origin grants and pending consent tickets in place. Revoke the
grants and withdraw the tickets for those sessions, keeping an active Stop.
…ity table

WebView2, WKWebView and WebKitGTK now declare the persistent-profile row
from the same check the host uses to bind global tabs.
let mut n: i32 = 0;
let mut code = 0u16;
if gdk_sys::gdk_keymap_get_entries_for_keyval(keymap, keyval, &mut keys, &mut n) != 0 && n > 0 {
code = (*keys).keycode as u16;
&env(&rig, Carrier::Ws, true, true),
)
.await;
assert!(reply.ok, "{:?}", reply.err);
"refused stops never reach the host"
);
let reply = runtime.block_on(route(&frame, &env(&rig, Carrier::Ws, true, true)));
assert!(reply.ok, "{:?}", reply.err);
.unwrap();
let mut raw = String::new();
stream.read_to_string(&mut raw).unwrap();
assert!(raw.starts_with("HTTP/1.1 204"), "{raw}");

Progress update 18: the final review found things to fix first

A second model reviewed the whole PR against the spec. Its verdict: ship after fixes. Please don't merge until those fixes land.

Must fix:

  1. An agent could get around the password and payment prompts. It could click "check" on a checkbox, press Space or Enter on a link or button, or log in on a page where the fields aren't inside a form. None of those went through the risky-action check.
  2. On Windows, content inside a cross-site iframe was read and clicked without checking whether that iframe's site was allowed. Only the main page's address was checked.
  3. The routes for editing browser policy skipped the guard that blocks writes over remote access. Also, the "project-bound remote clients can't change app-wide settings" rule only ever existed in tests, never in the real app.
  4. Desktop remote access rejected hostnames like Tailscale or .local names. That breaks existing setups. When a token is required, any hostname should be accepted, the same way termul-server already works.

Also being fixed:

  • Downloads: a page could stream an endless download before the 200 MB cap was checked.
  • Uploads: the upload prompt didn't name the file.
  • Policy file: an unreadable policy file fell back to the shared agent login. It now falls back to logged-out browsing.
  • Agentation server: it answered every website's requests. It's now limited to the app's own addresses.
  • Two files over the size limit are being split.
  • A test-only module was shipping inside the app.

Held up fine in the review: the 750 ms wait before a consent answer counts, "first answer wins", the per-connection approver check, and no URLs or typed values in logs.

Two workers are fixing these now, one for the browser core and one for the host side. After that, a second review and the end-to-end demo.

Agent tabs on WebView2 disable password autosave and general autofill, so
the engine's save-password bubble never covers a page an agent drives.
Typing and submitting passwords is unaffected, and the app never clears
an agent profile's cookies.
…vice

WebView2 gets a fake capture device switch, so a machine with a real but
unresponsive camera still reaches the host's permission handler. A runner
with no device fails capture with NotFoundError before any permission
check, so the permissions case accepts that on Windows and requires the
host's deny handler to log the geolocation refusal, which does reach it.
dispatch.rs passed the file-size rule. The table moves unchanged into
dispatch/registry.rs and REGISTRY keeps its path through a re-export.
