Follow-up to the 18.12.3 run: the command file is what future runs execute verbatim, and two of its recipes are provably wrong on this machine.

Step 2 — embedded-changelog source

readlink -f "$(which omp)" resolves the stale Homebrew Cellar 18.8.6 in a login shell (it has no 18.12.x window at all), and macOS readlink -f does not exist. Replaced with a content-resolved probe over type -a omp candidates plus the Tern version store, picking the first bundle that actually carries ## [TARGET].

Two traps encoded, both hit during this fix:

  • grep -q is unusable under set -o pipefail here: it closes the pipe, strings dies of SIGPIPE, and the if sees 141 — a real match is silently discarded. The recipe uses grep -c and tests the count.
  • Unquoted for b in $(...) splits Tern's space-containing paths; while IFS= read -r does not.

Verified by executing the block verbatim: BIN=/Users/rector/Library/Application Support/Tern/omp/bin/omp and the 18.12.3 window prints.

Step 4 — live tmux verify

A brand-new tmux -L <sock> server is not fresh when ~/.tmux.conf loads tmux-resurrect/continuum: @continuum-restore 'on' + @resurrect-capture-pane-contents 'on' restore the last saved layout with pane snapshots, so capture-pane returns a days-old widget render (observed: omp 18.6.1 · sl 0.6.3, dated 07 Oct) that reads as a broken install. Recipe now starts the server with -f /dev/null, launches the content-resolved $BIN (not command -v omp), captures with an explicit -t compat:0.0, and notes the inert leftover socket file.

Docs only; no code, no version bump.
