Is this going to also use the Hailo for green-on-brown. The RPi5 overheats even with the green-on-brown as is, without any help from accelerators. |
Yes, I'll eventually add Hailo support for this. Do you use the active cooler for the Pi 5 currently? I haven't had too many overheating issues with just GoB. What sort of conditions do you use it in? Overclocked GoG definitely got quite warm. Hoping to fix this somewhat with aluminium heatsink enclosures. |
Yeah, the active cooling makes a difference. I am also exploring passive cooling because long term the fan will give in. Especially if this is deployed in the field where it will be subject to vibrations, movement, etc. Have you tested any passive cooling heat sinks that work? |
It's a good point - have been looking into better aluminium enclosures with heatsinks as part of the extrusion. It's probably one of the few longer term solutions, even with any Hailo hat. This is also what other commercial groups are using to manage heat. Bolting the aluminium enclosure to a steel frame/aluminium support can also act as a good thermal draw. Choosing white instead of black paint probably helps in hot sun, depending on your deployment location. Open to ideas though if you've come across anything? |

Guy can you please go through this?? Will need better documentation for read me!!
Will need to be tested more thoroughly as this is a dev/beta
