Game freezes when using a copy of "Soul Blade (USA) (Rev 1)"

I am unable to get my Rev 1 copy of the game to boot.

The repo readme says the region of the game my copy is from is supported so I am unsure if this is a bug or out of the project's scope since this recomp appears to be based on Rev 0.
