Prerequisites

Installation

1. Clone repository:

   git clone <repository-url>
   cd routemate

2. Install backend dependencies:

   cd backend
   npm install

3. Install frontend dependencies:

   cd ..
   npm install

4. Configure environment variables:

   Backend (.env already created):

   cd backend
   # .env file already exists with development settings

5. Initialize database:

6. Start development servers:

   Terminal 1 - Backend:

Database Setup (Optional)

Start PostgreSQL using Docker:

# From the project root
docker-compose up -d postgres

This will start PostgreSQL on port 5432 with:

• Database: routemate
• User: routemate_admin
• Password: routemate_password
