Summary
Release 0.14.0 — a minor bump for the new
--base-classesoption, plus the comparison-page correction.Nothing but release mechanics:
[Unreleased]→[0.14.0]with the compare-link footer, version bump,uv lock, and the documented pre-commitrev:moved tov0.14.0in bothdocs/usage/ci.mdand the example inside.pre-commit-hooks.yaml.What ships
Added —
--base-classes(#173, partially addresses #171). Names extra base classes to treat as Pydantic models, for bases defined outside the scanned files. Unblocks django-ninjaSchemasubclasses, and the sharedBaseSchemafrom an internal library.Fixed — the comparison page (#172). Two rows claimed no alternative ships Markdown injection or a CI drift gate; paracelsus ships both. It is now a column and a named entry under "when to use something else".
Non-breaking in both directions: a new optional flag and a docs correction. Anyone on 0.13.0 can upgrade without changing anything.
Why now rather than bundled later
--base-classesis the django-ninja angle, and that is only claimable in a launch post ifpip install erdifyactually delivers it. The docs site already redeployed frommain, so until this ships the site and PyPI disagree about what erdify can do.Type of change
Verification
uv.lockre-synced in the same commit — theerdifyentry is pinned and goes stale otherwise, which theuv-lockpre-commit hook confirms. After merge
Same flow as 0.13.0: I tag
v0.14.0, publish the GitHub release and post the announcement Discussion. The PyPI publish then sits in the gatedpypienvironment waiting for your Review deployments → Approve — that click stays yours. One note for the launch copy
--base-classeshandlesninja.Schemasubclasses with explicit field annotations. It does not handleninja.ModelSchema, whose fields come from an innerMeta. Any post claiming "django-ninja support" should say which half, or the first Ninja user reaching forModelSchemawrites the top comment.#171stays open for that.Checklist
