What

Sets bundle.createUpdaterArtifacts: true in tauri.conf.json (it was never present) and notes the packaging fix in the 0.4.0 changelog.

Why

The v0.4.0 release build produced no .sig updater signatures, so the Publish latest.json job aborted with 'No platforms assembled' — auto-update would be broken. Signing keys were already wired via TAURI_SIGNING_PRIVATE_KEY secrets; only the config flag was missing.

How

Config-only: bundle.createUpdaterArtifacts: true makes tauri build sign the macOS updater tarballs and NSIS installers during bundling.

Testing

  • tauri.conf.json remains valid JSON
  • Release workflow re-run after merge + tag move: all four build jobs must produce .sig artifacts and the manifest must assemble

tauri build produced no .sig updater artifacts because
bundle.createUpdaterArtifacts was never set in tauri.conf.json — the
release pipeline then aborted with 'No platforms assembled'. Signing
keys were already wired via TAURI_SIGNING_PRIVATE_KEY secrets.
