For the past two years we've deliberately tried to make things push further for interaction, all this does is basically make the game feel even more empty. I dont think your reasoning is good enough for this change, it just boils down to 'i dont want to bother being a part of the bigger enviroment' These things make the almayer feel more alive, sure its annoying to walk through the ship but the things you can see, the people you can talk to are a part of naturally occuring roleplay, and i think this pushes everything into more tdm, as much as i hate to say it |
I get your view on this, i truly do. Furthermore, to make gameplay worse for the sake of RP is a bandaid solution Making players consitently have less time to RP for the sake of inconsitend chances to RP is simply not enough reason to keep the latejoin spawns in after. ADD: |
About the pull request
Explain why it's good for the game
We got a lot of roles spawn at lower after if they late join, and many of them have a long way to reach their vendors. In case of CIC staff they will have to run through the entire almayer, even if they spawnd 1 minute late. Just no fun, and it also makes it harder for player to find their "station". Simple fix. Additonally some new latejoin icons to be more clear and neat.
Icons got adjust in their positioning a bit simply to be unifrom, besides being not looking random it also allows the latejoin landmark icon to be clearly visible for mappers.
Lastly i slaped a parent on almost all roles that spawn on the almayer. Simply to avoid the condition of "long-list-itis".
Having the long list of stuff in SDMM be a bit sorted is always very lovly to see.
