Small/fast models sometimes emit <function=name> blocks as text instead of native tool_calls — the raw syntax leaked straight into answers. Now: parse allowlisted <function=> blocks and run them through the normal tool pipeline; strip anything unparseable so raw syntax never renders. Plus a system-prompt line steering models to native calling. Full suite green (1114 passed).
