An Android app that automatically adjusts your media volume based on riding speed. Built for motorcycle riders who use satnav or listen to music through a helmet headset.
Louder on the motorway, quieter in town. No fumbling with volume at every traffic light.
VolumeShifter uses GPS to detect your speed. As you accelerate, it gradually increases the media volume to compensate for wind and road noise. When you slow down, volume drops back to your baseline. When you stop the service, your original volume is restored.
- GPS speed detection with automatic volume adjustment
- Volume boost slider to control how much extra volume is added at speed
- Volume cap with hearing safety warning above 70%
- Auto-start option for a quick pre-ride setup
- km/h and mph toggle
- Bluetooth safety — mutes immediately if your headset disconnects
- GPS timeout — volume decays back to base if signal is lost (tunnels, etc.)
- Privacy first — no data ever leaves your phone. No internet permission, no analytics, no tracking.
