Epson XP-345 doesn't seem to be recognised

My 20 year old Epson XP-345 doesn't seem to be recognised, probably to old for AirPrint? Discover finds it's IP but that's about it.

Query in Mintprint doesn't produce anything in the log and all I get is "Scan failed - please try query again"

Running the py script in windows only gives me this:

Thanks for testing 1.3.0 — that confirms the first compatibility fix did not reach the actual failure.

I have opened PR #90 with a more useful diagnostic probe. It keeps the normal probe unchanged, but adds a read-only --diagnose mode that:

• records HTTP status, Content-Type, Content-Length, Server and Location;
• shows a bounded hex/ASCII preview when the response is empty, HTML or otherwise not IPP;
• tests IPP/1.1, 1.0 and 2.0;
• checks the supplied path plus common older Epson/AirPrint paths.

After PR #90 is merged, please run this from a Windows PC on the same network:

python windows_ipp_probe.py http://PRINTER-IP:631/ipp/print --all --diagnose

Replace PRINTER-IP with the printer's address and attach the complete output. That will tell us whether MintPRINT needs another endpoint/protocol compatibility change or whether the XP-345 is advertising discovery without exposing a usable IPP capability service.

Thanks for this update.
The printer is refusing HTTP connections
On your printer could you do this

Open Epson Web Config and look under the IPP/protocol settings for Allow Non-secure Communication. Epson documents that exact option: enabling it permits ordinary unencrypted IPP.

This should fix MintPRINT to work with it.
For a future version I could add AmiSSL in to it - to support HTTPS printers like this Epson directly.

One thing though, making a test print sends the page to my Brother which is set as 0 while under the Epson which is set as 1.
