Nginx configuration parser for bext — drop-in replacement that serves your existing nginx.conf unchanged.
Part of the bext stack.
[dependencies]
bext-nginx-compat = "0.2"bext-nginx-compat parses nginx configuration files and converts them to
bext's internal representation. Used by the bext server to masquerade as
nginx — point bext at your existing nginx.conf and it serves the same
sites, with zero config changes.
68 of 70 mainstream nginx directives are supported. The two missing ones are niche features; see the docs for the exact compatibility matrix.
- Migrating from nginx — swap your nginx binary for bext, keep your config.
- Running nginx configs under bext — get bext's caching, SSR, and platform features while preserving your existing reverse-proxy setup.
- Testing nginx config changes — parse configs in CI and get typed errors.
bext-nginx-shim is a thin binary that translates nginx CLI commands
(nginx -s reload, nginx -t, etc.) to bext operations. Install it as
a drop-in replacement for /usr/sbin/nginx and existing systemd units,
deploy scripts, and CI pipelines keep working without changes.
