For those who use the CYD units 'upside down' with the cable connector and dial oriented below the screen, and with the latest code updates now changed so that some units can control screen brightness when the dial is turned on the 'about screen', try setting

The ability to rotate the screen is described in the Wiki.
Unfortunately it was removed in the commit of December 14, 2024

To reinstate this functionality, you can add
next_layout(delta);
At the beginning of the AboutScene::onEncoder function in the AboutScene.cpp file (after line 52)

Ok, what worked was @banana-legs solution, but it's now at a different location:

@guillaume-rico or @bdring is there a simple method to remove the OSD buttons and reclaim that space? Ideally it’d be great if there was a firmware version for physical buttons that does something useful with the reclaimed space.

Hello, I installed everything from the web. I have a question: ESP32 communicates with CyD to control everything, including selecting gcode files... but I don't know how to install macros. There's nothing in the macros section. Please help me.

Hi.
If macros are created in fluidnc through the webui, they will then also appear in the macro section of the FluidDial menu. The macros I created on my machine get saved into the local ESP32 file system (where config.yaml is saved, login and look at the webui page of your machine for local files). I have my first macro as macro1.g and it just contains instructions to get my machine back to its reference as:
G53 G0 Z0
G53 G0 X0Y0

and the other macros have similar text files with the appropriate gcode instructions in. The webui also at the same time creates macrocfg.json in the same directory on the ESP32 as well which links through to these files and ties the macros to button icons etc. macrocfg.json is mentioned on the fluidnc wiki webui page (scroll down to the macros section)
