The PR here is now merged: open-telemetry/opentelemetry-lambda#1754

I did some testing there, but I wasn't able to build using the python/build.sh for this repository due to the fact that ../opentelemetry-lambda/collector is missing. I wasn't sure if that's necessary for testing the new version or not.

The python3.13 and python3.12 keywords are there, but please let me know if and how I can test it further, so it will be easier to approve.

Thanks for the contribution upstream, we don't have an ETA at the moment, but will add support for both versions in next release.
