What is the purpose of the change
LocalInputChannel.getNextBuffer()always enteredsynchronized (recoveredBuffers)to check recoverystate, even for channels that never needed recovery (where
inRecoveryis always false andrecoveredBuffersalways empty, so the block is dead).needsRecoveryis a final field, so gating therecovery block on it lets steady-state non-recovery channels skip the monitor on the hot path.
