add -src to the name of the source releases #635

Closed

Description

@pjfanning

This is a norm in the ASF because it makes it easier for reviewers to work out which tar.gz is which.
Remember that mentors and Incubator PMC members need to vote on your releases and Burr sticks to normal practices then it is easier for them.

tar -xzf apache-burr-{VERSION}-incubating.tar.gz

Example from another podling
https://dist.apache.org/repos/dist/dev/incubator/bifromq/4.0.0-incubating-RC3/

The -src appears at the end of the name.

Can we make the same change for Apache Hamilton too?

    @elijahbenizzy would it be possible to fix this for 0.41.1?

    Yes -- going to do a host of fixes (including Jupyter notebook license and pypi improvements) shortly. Will slot this in.

    This was addressed in #651 — the release script now generates archives with the -src suffix. Can we close this one?

    @elijahbenizzy @skrawcz the 0.42.0 release prep (PR #651) already ships archives with the -src suffix. Can we close this one?
