Hi, I've been using Anytype self-hosted for quite some time and I gotta say the setup wasnt the easiest.

Suggested solution

At some point I found out about https://github.com/grishy/any-sync-bundle which is a bundle for any sync and it works really well but it's third party and I'm not sure how much time will it last. I was thinking if you could look at it and maybe consider having an official version of this for a much easier self-host setup ? Thanks

I don't see any particular complexity in setting up the cluster - essentially, you just need to install the dependencies and configure a single setting: EXTERNAL_LISTEN_HOSTS.

any-sync-bundle is a reworked version of the server-side stack, where all components are combined into a single daemon.
our repository any-sync-dockercompose, in turn, fully mirrors the production cluster architecture.
this is necessary for legitimate testing, and that is the main purpose of this repository.

we cannot significantly modify any-sync-dockercompose due to obvious backward compatibility issues with the production environment.

at the moment, we do not have the resources to develop and maintain a separate self-hosted solution similar to any-sync-bundle, so if you are experiencing difficulties with any-sync-dockercompose, I would recommend using the solution provided by @grishy.
this user has already made a substantial contribution to the anytype project, and I believe their repository can be trusted. I also hope they will keep it up to date.

yes, I aligned with the stable version anytype services and have a CI check in case a new version is released.
