A batched gate wake in a channel bound to a conversation fork sends the trunk's speech into the fork's channel #712
Found in our review of #710, and left out of that pull request.
With conversation routing (conversations) and an event gate that batches channel messages, an addressed message in a channel bound to a fork wakes the trunk as well as the fork when the batch fires. mayTakeGateRoute (src/framework.ts:14178 at main6c228d45) gives the batch's addressed route only to the fork homed in that channel, so the trunk's inference request carries no channel (src/framework.ts:3443-3445). The trunk's speech then goes to the registry's default channel, the one the latest message arrived in (src/mcpl/channel-registry.ts:1833), which is the fork's. The trunk speaks in a conversation that belongs to the fork. test/batched-wake-locus.test.ts:216 asserts that the trunk's request has no channel, and doesn't run the trunk's turn.
What we ran. At 6c228d45, on Linux with Node 24.22.0, we configured one agent, trunk, as conversations.templateAgent, a gate policy that batches mcpl:channel-incoming with a 300 ms debounce, and the server in test/fixtures/speech-route-mcpl-server.mjs. One message in discord:g1:room, with metadata.mentioned: true, made a fork bound to the room. When the batch fired:
the fork's inference request carried channelId: "discord:g1:room", and the trunk's carried none;
both turns' speech was posted to discord:g1:room, and each turn's mcpl:speech-routed trace names that channel, one for trunk and one for the fork.
