Quick Start

Prerequisites

• Node.js v18+
• MongoDB

Installation

# Backend
cd backend
npm install
cp .env.example .env
# Edit .env with your MongoDB URI, JWT secret, and AI API keys

# Frontend
cd frontend
npm install
cp .env.example .env
# Edit .env with VITE_API_URL=http://localhost:5000/api

Run Locally

# Terminal 1 - Backend
cd backend
npm run dev

# Terminal 2 - Frontend
cd frontend
npm run dev

Visit http://localhost:5173

Deployment

Backend (Render)

1. Create Web Service
2. Root Directory: backend
3. Build: npm install
4. Start: npm start
5. Add environment variables
6. Copy deployed URL

Frontend (Vercel)

1. Import repository
2. Root Directory: frontend
3. Add VITE_API_URL with your Render URL + /api
4. Deploy

Final Step

Add FRONTEND_URL (your Vercel URL) to Render backend environment variables.
