aetherd M4: typed audio, DAX and IQ control-plane cleanup #6629
Consolidated M4 conversion under #3849 and #5262. Replace remaining above-seam audio/DAX/IQ stream create/remove/rate/binding and graphic EQ command text with validated typed backend requests. Include adjacent mic-selection, binaural and audio-routing reassertions. Preserve RX consumer sharing, native audio paths, radio-confirmed state, existing TX admission, and the separate global DAX flag owner. Reuse #6618 stream ownership; do not duplicate it or fold in #6595.
Acceptance: original-session/identity fencing through terminal queued writes; bounded asynchronous completion and cancellation; safe late-create cleanup; shared IQ consumer protection; compression and supported-rate policy preserved; socket-free behavioral and test-only negative-control coverage; native Mac/Linux/Windows builds and isolated Demo automation bridge/MCP proof; review and fix findings before a draft PR. No DSP rewrite, new daemon methods, TX permissions or RF testing.
Implementation is in progress with user-approved scope. #6628 and #6618 are currently open; development uses their exact heads as a local integration base, with an independent PR against main after the prerequisites merge.
Thanks for filing this. This issue involves CI/CD workflows, build infrastructure, or release packaging — that is outside what I can help with, as I am restricted to source code changes in src/ and docs/.
The consolidated implementation is complete at a signed local checkpoint, with the review findings addressed. Qualification passed natively on macOS ARM64, Linux and Windows MSVC x64: desktop + aetherd builds, 8/8 focused regression tests on each platform, and 21/21 production Demo/MCP checks on each platform. The checks used isolated settings with transmit disabled; no physical radio or RF was involved.
The converted control path reduces the above-seam raw-command ratchet from 122 to 92 sites. Final correctness and scoped security diff reviews identified no remaining reportable findings. Documentation/static/generated-metadata checks pass. The existing TCI integration fixture was migrated, but its optional socket-owning integration run is not included in these results; the new regression coverage is socket-free.
Publication is planned as an independent draft PR against main after #6628 and #6618 merge. Both remain open, so the local prerequisite integration stack has not been pushed as a PR. Once they land, I will remove those prerequisite commits from the diff and revalidate against the resulting upstream base before publication.
