👋 Jules, reporting for duty! I'm here to lend a hand with this pull request. When you start a review, I'll add a 👀 emoji to each comment to let you know I've read it. I'll focus on feedback directed at me and will do my best to stay out of conversations between you and other bots or reviewers to keep the noise down. I'll push a commit with your requested changes shortly after. Please note there might be a delay between these steps, but rest assured I'm on the job! 💡 What:
Replaced occurrences of
Object.keys(obj).forEach()with standardfor...inloops accompanied byObject.prototype.hasOwnProperty.call()checks in thegetStylefunction insrc/index.js.For the final loop that modifies the iterated object (
useStyles) by adding keys with a_VIEW_SAFE_prefix, a standardforloop combined with a predefined array of keys (Object.keys()) is utilized to maintain functionality and safety against infinite loops.🎯 Why:
The
Object.keys().forEach()pattern allocates a new array in memory for keys and triggers a callback function for each iteration. In a hot path like style processing/merging, avoiding those allocations and closures yields a measurable performance benefit, and standardfor...inor indexed loops are significantly faster while performing the same object traversal.📊 Measured Improvement:
I established a local benchmark to simulate the repeated creation and merging of styles using
