A Chrome extension that enhances the testing workflow at Odoo.
- On an Odoo task — one button group per edition: open the Community or Enterprise pull request, open the edition's Runbot run or build, and download an executable prompt you double-click to have Claude test it in VS Code. Plus the branch's Runbot bundle and the task's downloads folder.
- On a GitHub pull request — one Runbot button for the Enterprise build, next to the head branch's copy button, plus a link back to the Odoo task.
- Auto login — signs into a Runbot run as Mitchell Admin and lands you in the backend, once per tab so you can still log out.
- Auto debug mode — adds
debug=1to any backend URL on a Runbot run or a demo database. - Default color scheme — makes Odoo believe the system scheme is System, Light or Dark, whichever you pick.
Every GitHub and Runbot lookup happens in the service worker with fetch, so nothing is ever opened in a visible tab.
See specifications/specifications.md for the specification this implements, and CLAUDE.md for how it is built.
- Open
chrome://extensions. - Enable Developer mode (top right).
- Click Load unpacked and select this repository's root folder.
- Pin the "Kaboom" icon for quick access to Settings (Auto Login, Auto Debug Mode, Default Color Scheme).
The science button downloads one executable file into Downloads/Kaboom/[<task-id>] <task-name>/ — a Linux Desktop Entry, [ENT] 4242-2026-09-04 14-30.desktop. Double-click it: it writes the prompt beside itself and opens the folder in a new VS Code window, where an automatic task runs Claude on that prompt in the integrated terminal.
So both CLIs have to be on your PATH (code and claude), and VS Code has to be allowed to run the task:
- the first double-click asks whether you trust the folder — tick "Trust the authors of all files in the parent folder" and every later task folder is covered;
"task.allowAutomaticTasks": "on"in your settings.
Chrome downloads the file without the executable bit, which it cannot set. Launching it from Chrome's downloads bar works anyway; from a file manager, chmod +x it once (or use its "Allow Launching").
scripts/package.shProduces kaboom-extension.zip to unzip and "Load unpacked", or to attach to a GitHub Release.
./.kaboom-run-tests.sh allRuns every suite in headless Chrome. See "What has and hasn't been tested" in CLAUDE.md.
