Cause: footnote references and the ↩ back-references are in-page anchors (#…fn-1 ⇄ #…fnref-1). The preview's click handler was swallowing those clicks, and the browser's native hash-scroll doesn't reach a target inside the preview's scrollable pane regardless — so nothing happened in preview/split.
Fix: the preview now resolves #-fragment links against its own container and scrolls the target into view (with a brief highlight). Clicking a footnote number jumps to its definition; clicking the ↩ jumps back to the reference. Heading/TOC anchor links benefit too.
Verified against the demo tour's 06 — Callouts and Footnotes note. Fixed in #89 — ships in the next release (v2.2.0). Thanks for flagging it! 🙏
