Interaction with Picture-in-Picture

What does happen in the persisted iframe if if has opened a picture-in-picture window? Does it close or stay opened?

I'm not currently aware of the complexities that this would entail..

What's your opinion on this as the picture-in-picture expert? Should it remain open? How hard would it be to specify and implement?

As a user, I'd prefer if the PiP window only closed if the persisted iframe IDs didn't match.
