I'm a full-stack software developer with a background in architecture, design and complex project delivery.
I build software for messy real-world problems: complicated workflows, integrations, business rules and data, but also the interfaces that make those systems understandable and pleasant to use.
I work mainly with Go, TypeScript and React, with PostgreSQL, SQLite, Docker and the wider modern web stack as the job requires.
My approach hasn't changed much from architecture to software: understand the concepts, look at the real thing, find the patterns, deliver. In architecture that meant understanding the existing building or site. In software it means getting into the code, data and actual workflow rather than making assumptions about how a system works.
My commercial work has included:
- Payroll migration and reconciliation software
- Logistics, stock and distribution systems
- E-commerce and third-party integrations
- Real-time infrastructure and location data
- AI-enabled applications and internal tooling
- Automated testing across complex business workflows
I'm also building This Much, an independent project exploring better ways for children and families to record and communicate experiences of persistent pain.
Before software, I spent more than 15 years in architecture and design, working across healthcare, education, infrastructure, manufacturing and residential projects.
I like understanding how things work, making complicated systems clearer, and building things that work well and feel considered.
