📍 Erlangen, Germany
I work on embedded systems at FAU Erlangen, and I like getting as close to the hardware as it gets. I write bare-metal STM32 firmware, register-level, no HAL, down to my own linker scripts, and most of the job turns out to be convincing a chip that I've actually read the same datasheet it has.
What pulls me now is getting small devices to know where they are. At FAU's LIKE chair I'm helping build an indoor-localization lab (BLE, RSSI, ROS2 robots), and on my own bench there's a Pico messenger running mioty over a sub-GHz radio. Firmware stays the foundation; localization is the problem I want to point it at.
