What

Amends the v2.2 byte merged in #26, before either SDK releases it.

Before (#26) Now
High nibble (bits 7–4) chip count tag index
Low nibble (bits 3–0) chip index tag count
Tag 1 of 2 0x21 0x12
Tag 2 of 2 0x22 0x22
Single tag 0x11 0x11
Count known, index unknown 0x20 0x02

Why

  • Order: a person reads "1 / 2" — index, then count. With the index in the high nibble, the hex value reads the same way: 0x12 = 1 of 2.
  • Name: what is counted is the TigerTags on a spool (a twin tag carries two). "Chip" stays for the NTAG component itself (its UID, its pages).

Unchanged: 0x00 = unknown (every tag written before v2.2), all tags of a spool share the Timestamp, index 1..count, not covered by the signature.

Changes

  • README.md: memory-map row, section 2.11 Tag index & tag count (encoding table, C snippet, examples, rules), cross-reference from 2.9, compact offset map, v2.2 history line.
  • llms.txt: offset map and encoding note.
  • assets/chip_layout.svg: page 0x0D cell Tags, "e.g. 0x12 = tag 1 of 2".
  • Sample code/parse_tigertag.py: tag_info / tag_index / tag_count, new nibble order; round-trip checked for 0x00, 0x11, 0x12, 0x22, 0x02.

tools/docs_check.py passes. The Python and JavaScript SDKs are being updated to the same names and order on their feat/chip-count-index branches.

Amends the v2.2 byte before any SDK ships it. The high nibble is now the
index and the low nibble the count, so the hex reads the way a person
says it: 0x12 is tag 1 of 2, 0x22 tag 2 of 2, 0x11 a single tag. The
fields are named tag index / tag count: what is counted is the TigerTags
on a spool (a twin tag carries two); "chip" stays for the NTAG itself.
