Using ctext_260515
seems to cause two issues.
The first is the "Star" icon for magic isn't found thus a "missing character" square shape. I "fixed" this by reverting to an older (and only the .ttf file, not the rest of this)

This worked for many hours. I am also running the game on Steam via Proton GE 11-1
I say all that for full disclosure and background.
So when you get to the part where Frog is supposed to catch the Gold Rock at Denadoro Mountains he would grab the thrown rock and a dialog window will very briefly pop and a crash to desktop.
When keeping all else the same but renaming that sqlite3.dll to use the Steam original version (and thus bypassing the mod) I was able to grab the Gold Rock and leave the mountain to save.
I did not test the current mod's version of the ChronoType.ttf as after all it has it's other problem with the magic star symbols.
